Throughout their illustrious 45-year career, the ALLMAN BROTHERS BAND have played many legendary venues and widely-praised live shows; however, up until this point, the sold-out show on July 19, 2005 at the Warner Theatre in Erie, PA hasn’t been included on that list. Long hailed as one of their best ever by the band members themselves, on October 16 fans will have the opportunity to experience this spectacular show for themselves with the commercial release of a 2-CD set via Allman Brothers Band Recording Company, distributed by The Orchard.By the summer of 2005, the Allman Brothers Band had moved into a comfort zone of stability and superb chemistry. The line-up–Gregg Allman on vocals and keyboards, drummers Jaimoe and Butch Trucks, Warren Haynes and Derek Trucks on guitars, Oteil Burbridge on bass and percussionist Marc Quinones–had been together since 2001 and had established a groove, both on and off the stage.

Unlike the previous volumes in Jon Savage's series of double CD compilations, which featured music from an expansive mixture of genres, this latest edition is 100% rock, as Jon elaborates in the customary bumper 28-page booklet: In the late 60s, British pop and youth culture began to fragment into tribes. The divisions had always been there, even at the height of the supposedly classless mid-60s. I was an unrepentant rock fan. That was my tribe. I still bought Motown and reggae hits, but they were the hits: there was no deeper exploration. After Radio Caroline had gone, I d lost most of the connection to black American music as part of the wider pop experience that I d had in 1965, 1966 and 1967, even 1968.

In many ways, Def Leppard were the definitive hard rock band of the '80s. There were groups that rocked harder, but few captured the spirit of the times quite as well. Emerging in the late '70s as part of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal, Def Leppard gained a following outside of that scene by toning down their heavy riffs and emphasizing melody. After a couple of strong albums, they were poised for crossover success by the time of 1983's Pyromania, and skillfully used the fledgling MTV network to their advantage. They reached the pinnacle of their career with 1987's blockbuster Hysteria, then had another big hit, 1992's Adrenalize, that defied the mainstream turn toward grunge.

Def Leppard will release the Hits Vegas Live At Planet Hollywood show as a digital live album on 24th April.The 'London To Vegas' box set and separate 'Hysteria At The O2' 2CD/DVD/Blu-ray sets were announced on 27th February.A new separate live digital album of 'Hits Vegas Live At Planet Hollywood' featuring all 28 tracks from the DVD is now being listed for released on 24th April.It features a variation of the London cover art with a photo from Vegas set against the American flag. No separate release of the Las Vegas concert film is listed anywhere.In addition 'Hysteria At The O2' is also listed as a full digital live album.
